Grandma's Carrot Cake image

I love this easy to make carrot cake! Combine it with Tillie's White Sauce Frosting and you have the perfect not-too-sweet desert. Perfect for a fall finale to any meal. Or take it to a potluck.

Number Of Ingredients 9

2 c sugar
1 ½ c cooking oil
4 eggs
2 c flour
2 tsp baking soda
2 tsp salt
3 c grated carrots
2 tsp cinnamon
½ to ¾ c nuts ~ optional or adjustable amts to preference

Steps:

  • 1. Grease and flour 8x12 OR 9x13 cake pan. Pre-heat oven to 350°. ( layer pans work fine too.)
  • 2. Mix together: sugar, cooking oil, eggs.
  • 3. Sift together and add to first mixture: flour, baking soda and salt.
  • 4. Add: grated carrots, cinnamon and nuts.
  • 5. Bake at 350° for 45 minutes. Cool. Frost with Tillie's White Sauce Frosting.
