2 large eggs, separated
¾ cup all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon white sugar
½ teaspoon baking powder
1 pinch salt
¾ cup sweetened condensed milk
1 tablespoon shortening
¼ cup unsalted butter, melted, or as needed

  • Beat egg whites in a bowl until stiff.
  • Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt together in a second bowl. Mix in egg yolks, condensed milk, and shortening. Fold in egg whites.
  • Heat an aebleskiver pan over medium heat until hot. Brush each cup with a little melted butter using a pastry brush, then fill each with about 2 tablespoons of batter until almost full.
