Garlicky Five-Cheese Appetizer Crisps image

They look like cookies-but these savory five-cheese appetizer crisps are good and garlicky and a guaranteed hit at parties.

1-3/4 cups flour
1/2 cup yellow cornmeal
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 cup cold butter, cut into chunks
1-1/2 cups KRAFT Finely Shredded Italian* Five Cheese Blend
1/2 cup cold water
2 Tbsp. white HEINZ Balsamic Vinegar
1 Tbsp. ground black pepper
1 Tbsp. dried Italian seasoning

Steps:

  • Process flour, cornmeal, baking soda, sugar and garlic powder in food processor until blended. Add butter; pulse until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Spoon into medium bowl. Add cheese, water and vinegar; stir until mixture forms dough. Shape into ball; wrap tightly in plastic wrap. Refrigerate 1 hour.
  • Heat oven to 300°F. Divide dough into 4 pieces; roll each piece into 13-inch circle on floured surface. Sprinkle with seasonings; press lightly into dough. Cut each circle into 8 wedges. Place, 2 inches apart, on baking sheets sprayed with cooking spray.
  • Bake 22 to 24 min. or until crisp and lightly browned. Cool 3 min. on baking sheets. Remove to wire racks; cool completely.
