Garlic & Herb Shrimp Over Lemon Angel Hair image

I created this to step up regular shrimp scampi and it is so good! It cooks up fast if you do the pasta at the same time as the shrimp. I created this for my husband and I since our son hates shrimp. But I bet you could double or triple this just fine!

Number Of Ingredients 14

12 ounce(s) shrimp, peeled and deveined
8 clove(s) garlic, pressed
1 shallot, minced
1 teaspoon(s) garlic and herb seasoning blend
2 tablespoon(s) parsley flakes
4 dash(es) old bay hot sauce
1 stick(s) butter, salted
2 dash(es) black pepper
PASTA
4 ounce(s) angel hair pasta
1 - lemon, zested and then juiced
2 tablespoon(s) olive oil
4-6 dash(es) old bay hot sauce
salt and pepper to taste

Steps:

  • In a pot of water, make it as salty as the sea and bring to a boil.
  • While waiting for water to boil, in a skillet melt butter over medium heat. Add shallot, garlic, parsley, garlic and herb seasoning, hot sauce, and pepper.
  • Cook over medium heat until shallot is cooked and softened stirring often. Reserve 3 tbs for the pasta. Add shrimp and turn heat up a bit to medium-high heat. Cook until shrimp is cooked through, stirring occasionally.
  • Once water is boiling add pasta. Cook until just softened. Drain and place back in pot. Add reserved butter herb mixture, olive oil, zest of lemon, juice of lemon, hot sauce, and any salt and pepper you would like.
  • Serve shrimp ontop of pasta and it pairs well with steamed broccoli, if you choose.
