Fried Cheese Sticks image

Be sure when frying you remove them before the cheese starts to leak out.

1 (12 cnt. pkg mozzarella string cheese sticks
1 1/2 c italian bread crumbs
1 c grated parmesan cheese
2 eggs, beaten
vegetable oil

Steps:

  • 1. In a shallow bowl, place bread crumbs and Parmesan cheese and mix well.
  • 2. Beat eggs in a shallow bowl.
  • 3. One at a time, dip the cheese stick into the egg to coat. Allow excess to drip off.
  • 4. Then dredge the stick in the bread crumb mixture to coat. Place on a plate.
  • 5. Repeat until all are coated.
  • 6. Place the plate in the freezer for 15 minutes.
  • 7. Meanwhile, fill a heavy skillet with oil to 3 inches deep.
  • 8. Heat oil over medium high (or until it reaches 365 degrees.)
  • 9. Carefully drop the coated stick into the oil and fry until golden brown, About a minute
  • 10. Don't crowd the sticks. You may nedd to do 2 batches.
  • 11. Drain on paper towels.
  • 12. Let cool slightly before eating. Serve with marinara sauce.
