French Fried Dandelion Blossoms image

This if from an old recipe book belonging to Mrs. Marion Johnson from Gentry, Arkansas. She had clipped this from a newspaper or magazine and placed it in her recipe book. Love to collect these old ones so they don't get lost.

dandelion blossoms
salted water
eggs, beaten
flour
cornmeal

Steps:

  • 1. Clean and soak dandelion blossoms in salt water for 30 minutes.
  • 2. Then dip in beaten egg
  • 3. .Then in a mixture of flour and corn meal.
  • 4. Brown on both sides in hot grease or lard. Delicious. Half ripe tomatoes are good this way, too.
