Here is your request for the Chinese Doughnuts Recipe. There are 2 versions. I will post both for you. Enjoy!

Number Of Ingredients 7

2 c flour
1/2 tsp salt
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/3 c butter-flavored shortening or butter
3/4 c milk
oil for frying
sugar for coating

Steps:

  • 1. Mix flour, salt, and baking powder in a mediun sized mixing bowl.
  • 2. Crumble and incorporate the shortening or butter into the flour mixture until there are no large clumps remaining.
  • 3. Add the milk and stir just until the dough forms into a ball
  • 4. Knead 8 to 12 times. Do not over knead.
  • 5. Heat an inch or two of oil over medium to medium-high heat.
  • 6. Take a 1/4 cup of dough and roll it into a ball. Gently flatten to resemble a biscuit shape.
  • 7. Fry in oil until both sides are very lightly browned, about 2 minutes per side.
  • 8. Roll the doughnut around on a plate of sugar.
