When my late husband traveled to Brazil on business in 1989, he brought back many stories of delicious food and also this recipe. Sad to say I've never tried it but I think my son and boyfriend would both love it. So it's a plan! Photo: http://blog.goethe.de/

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 box(es) black turtle soup beans
1 large onion, chopped
1 large green bell pepper, pureed or chopped finely
2 medium tomatoes, pureed or chopped finely
3 clove(s) garlic, chopped finely
1 package(s) (16 oz.) bacon, chopped
1/3 - smoked sausage, sliced into small pieces
1 pound(s) pork chops
- rice

Steps:

  • Soak beans overnight. They will cook faster when combined.
  • Fry bacon in an extra-large skillet. Puree or chop peppers, tomatoes, onions and garlic and then combine with bacon.
  • Add beans, sausage and pork chops and cook until tender. Add salt to taste.
  • Prepare enough rice for six people. To serve, top rice with beans mixture.
