Fast Fannie's Italian 3 Inch Rims image

Fast Fannie's was my dad's nick name for me when I was growing up. This is my spicy Italian twist on pinwheels. These are ready in a flash! I hope that you enjoy these. Cooking with Passion, sw:)

1 refrigerated crescent roll sheet
3 Tbsp tomato paste
3 Tbsp pesto
4 oz shredded italian cheese, shredded & divided
8 slice sopressata salame
8 slice proscuitto
1/4 c pepperoncini peppers, chopped
olive oil, extra virgin to brush on rounds after baked**

Steps:

  • 1. gather ingredienats and chop peppers. meanwhile preheat oven to 320 degrees.
  • 2. in a small mixing bowl, combine pesto and tomato paste. prepare cookie sheet for the oven. roll out crescent sheet and place on greased cookie shee or silpak, spread tomato/pesto sauce on crescent dough
  • 3. add 1/2 of the cheese, salame, peppers, proscuitto and remaining cheese
  • 4. roll crescent dough tightly until about 1/4 inch of dough is still showing, dampen the ends with water and seal. chill dough for 15 minutes before slicing. cut into 10-12 rounds (3 inch rounds)
  • 5. bake rounds for 12-15 minutes until golden brown. brush with evoo. allow to rest
  • 6. time to get those rims on the road "mouth"
