Ella's Pecan Pie image

My mother got this recipe from her friend, Ella, many years ago when I was a child. We have always used this recipe for a pecan pie that is just right and not overly sweet. You'll want seconds!

Number Of Ingredients 9

2 tablespoon(s) butter, softened
1/2 cup(s) light brown sugar
2 - eggs, well beaten
2 tablespoon(s) all purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon(s) salt
1/2 teaspoon(s) vanilla extract
1 cup(s) karo light corn syrup
1 1/2 cup(s) pecan halves
1 - 9-inch pie shell (uncooked - i use pillsbury refrigerated pie crusts)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. In a medium bowl, cream butter and sugar together until light.
  • Add eggs, then flour, salt, vanilla, corn syrup, and pecans. Mix well by hand.
  • Pour into pie shell and bake for 10 minutes at 400 degrees F. Then reduce heat to 350 degrees F and bake for 30 minutes. Cool completely before serving.
