Easy, Tasty Beef Stroganoff image

This was my mother's recipe and has been in our family for over 50 years. I have not made any changes, but I am sure different items could be added to change the flavors. I like it the old fashioned way...as written. A great, easy recipe. Add a tossed salad and crusty rolls to round out the meal. Enjoy!

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 1/2 pound(s) sirloin steak, cut in strips
1/2 cup(s) diced onions
1 package(s) fresh sliced mushrooms
3 tablespoon(s) flour
1 cup(s) beef bouillon
1 tablespoon(s) worcestershire sauce
1 clove(s) garlic, minced
1/2 cup(s) sour cream
- parsley to sprinkle
2 cup(s) cooked egg noodles

Steps:

  • In large saucepan, heat butter till bubbly. Add onions, garlic and mushrooms and saute lightly.
  • Meantime combine salt, pepper, flour and steak strips in large bowl and stir to coat. Add to skillet and brown. Add bouillon and worcestershire sauce to skillet. Cover and simmer till meat is tender. About 30 minutes. Taste and season if necessary.
  • Cook egg noodles in boiling water per package directions. Once noodles are done, drain and set aside.
  • Add sour cream to skillet and mix well. Cook about 3 minutes or so to heat sour cream through.
  • To plate...add 1/2 cup noodles to platter, top with stroganoff mixture and sprinkle with chopped parsley.
