Steps:
- 1. Heat vegetable oil in a pan, deep enough to cover half the donut. Check if oil is hot enough, flick one drop of water into pan. When it starts singing, it is hot enough to deep fry.
- 2. Beat eggs, milk, vanilla and sugar in a bowl. Set aside. Cut crusts off of the bread and cut into 4 triangles for each slice.
- 3. If you want stuffed donuts: Spread a small amount of preserves on one half of bread and top it with another slice.
- 4. Soak the bread triangles covering both sides and edges well. Fry the egg-soaked bread until golden on both sides.
- 5. For regular donuts, move to cooling rack and shake cinnamon sugar on both sides. For stuffed donuts, remove to cooling rack and let cool for a little bit. Shake them in a ziplock with powdered sugar to coat.
