Dutch Apple Cake image

I am a recipe sniffer....which means I love to take recipes and change them to suit my tastes. This dutch apple cake definitely did not have enough apple to please me, so I added more. Number Of Ingredients 11

3/4 c butter, softened
1 c sugar
1/2 c brown sugar
2 egg
1 c buttermilk
1 tsp soda
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
2 1/2 c flour
3 c chopped, peeled, cored apple

Steps:

  • 1. Topping: 3/4 c. sugar 1 tsp. cinnamon 3/4 c. chopped walnuts Cream butter and sugars well; add eggs and buttermilk. Sift flour, soda, salt, baking powder, cinnamon, and flour together. Mix into creamy mixture. Stir in diced apples. Pour batter into a greased and floured jelly roll pan. Topping: Mix together and sprinkle over cake batter. Bake at 350 degrees F. for 25 - 30 minutes (mine was closer to the 30 minute mark).
