"DROP" SUGAR COOKIES

This Sugar Cookie recipe is one of my favorites. I use Coconut Oil in place of half the butter (it makes these homemade cookies even better!) The original name of these cookies was Amish Sugar Cookies, but after my substitute, I wasn't sure that the Amish would approve so I hope you will make them, love them and put your own name to them. Enjoy!

Yield 3 Dozen

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 cup butter, softened
1 cup coconut oil
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup powdered sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
4 1/2 cups white flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cream of tartar

Steps:

  • Cream butter, oil and sugars together in bowl.
  • Add eggs and vanilla and beat until blended.
  • In a separate bowl, stir together dry ingredients. Mix into creamed mixture.
  • "Drop" onto ungreased baking sheets, if you must. Better yet, roll them in balls! Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes. You can roll the cookies in sprinkles to dress them up a little bit. See comments in video. https://youtu.be/f04cDFfmsys.
