Down Home Barbequed Chicken image

You'll love grilling when this tasty chicken is made. Hot pepper sauce adds a little zip to the tender chicken. Tip: The BBQ sauce is easy to double. Store any extra in your freezer and top off your next burger with it.

2 - chicken leg and thigh quarters
BBQ SAUCE
1/2 cup(s) ketchup
1/4 cup(s) water
2 tablespoon(s) brown sugar
1 tablespoon(s) lemon juice
1 tablespoon(s) cider vinegar
1 teaspoon(s) worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon(s) prepared mustard
1 clove(s) garlic, minced
- dash salt
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon(s) hot pepper sauce
1 - bay leaf

Steps:

  • In small saucepan, combine all sauce ingredients; bring to a boil, stirring ccasionally. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 30 minutes. 2. Discard bay leaf. Reserve 1/3 cup sauce for basting. Cover and refrigerate the remaining sauce. 3. Prepare grill for indirect heat Put chicken over a drip pan. Grill, covered, over medium heat for 20 minutes. Turn; grill 15-25 minutes longer or until juices run clear, basting occasionally with reserved sauce. Serve with remaining sauce.
