Deborah's Slow Cooker Spicy Black Eyed Peas image

"Another soul food recipe I experimented with until I had just the right ingredients. This has more flavor and spice than other recipes I have tried."

Number Of Ingredients 8

4 (14 ounce) cans black-eyed peas, rinsed and drained
1/4 cup butter
1 cup chopped onion
1 cup diced cooked ham
1 1/2 cups chopped green bell pepper
1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes with green chile peppers, drained
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon seasoned salt

Steps:

  • Combine black-eyed peas, butter, onion, ham, bell pepper, diced tomatoes with green chile peppers, garlic, and seasoned salt in a slow cooker.
  • Cook on Low for 4 hours.
