DANISH PUFF PASTRY image

Yield 1 piggy family

Number Of Ingredients 15

Crust:
1 stick butter, softened
2 T. water
1 t. almond extract
chopped almonds
Pastry:
1 cup water
1 stick butter
1 t. almond extract
4 eggs, room temperature
Frosting:
powdered sugar
butter
milk
almond extract

Steps:

  • 1. Cream butter and flour. Add liquid and mix. Divide in half and spread in ovals on one cookie sheet. 2. Boil water and butter over medium heat. Stir in flour. Stir and cook 1 minute off the heat. Add eggs to blend. Spread onto crusts. 3. Bake at 375 for 40 minutes. Meanwhile prepare simple frosting. Remove and cool. Spread frosting while still warm. 4. Fight over who gets the cherry piece, or, if over 18 years of age, the end piece.
