Steps:
- The first thing to know about French toast is that if you measure anything, you just aren't doing it right. So start by putting a couple of eggs (or more, depending on how many people you're serving) in a flattish dish and beat with a dollop or two of milk. Heat your griddle or skillet until a drop of water dances on the surface, melt some butter, and then dip each slice of bread (first one side, then the other) into the batter and place on the skillet. Lightly brown on each side.
