Crockpot Flank Steak image

Flank steak is inexpensive, and oh so delicious when cooked this way. Best thing about this recipe - it uses ingredients you most likely already have around the house.

Number Of Ingredients 10

2 lb flank steak, cut in half
1 small can of green chiles
1 large onion, sliced
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp brown sugar
1 tsp chili powder
1/4 tsp cumin
1/2 c water
1 Tbsp olive oil, extra virgin (or regular, whatever you have on-hand)
2 clove garlic, minced

Steps:

  • 1. In a frying pan, brown off your flank steak on both sides in the oil.
  • 2. Add all ingredients into the crockpot.
  • 3. Cook on low for 4 hours if you prefer it sliced, or 5 hours if you prefer it shredded. I served this with mashed potatoes and broccoli, and it was a huge hit!
