Creamy Cabbage Soup image

Number Of Ingredients 5

1/2 c unsalted butter
1 large cabbage head, shredded
2 qt milk
salt to taste
freshly ground black pepper

Steps:

  • 1. In a soup pot, melt the butter over medium heat.
  • 2. Add the cabbage and saute for about 2 minutes.
  • 3. Stir in the milk and salt and pepper to taste; be generous with the pepper.
  • 4. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer until the cabbage is very tender and the soup is creamy, about 1 hour.
  • 5. Ladle the soup into preheated bowls and serve immediately.
