Cream Cheese Pastry image

I found this on the internet & it looks alot like something my grandmother made.

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 egg, separated
1 tsp vanilla
16 oz cream cheese
1 Tbsp milk
1 c sugar
2 pkg crescent dinner rolls
1 c confectioners' sugar
2 Tbsp milk

Steps:

  • 1. Combine egg yolk, vanilla, cream cheese, 1 tablespoon milk, sugar and beat until smooth.
  • 2. In a 9 X 13 baking dish, press 1 package of crescent rolls in the bottom and seal cracks.
  • 3. Pour cream cheese mixture over top.
  • 4. Take other package of crescent rolls and roll out on wax paper until smooth.
  • 5. Beat egg white until frothy with a fork.
  • 6. Brush top of pastry with beaten egg white.
  • 7. Bake for 30 minutes at 350.
  • 8. For topping, mix confectioners' sugar and 2 tablespoons milk until smooth.
  • 9. While the pastry is still warm, spread topping over the top.
