Crawfish au Gratin image

Number Of Ingredients 12

1 bunch green onion tops, chopped
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons flour
1/2 cup whipping cream
1/4 cup white wine
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/4 teaspoon Tabasco
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
6 ounces American cheese, grated
3 ounces Swiss cheese, grated
1 pound peeled crawfish tails

Steps:

  • Sauté onions in butter in a 2-quart casserole on HIGH 3 minutes. Add flour, cream, wine, salt, pepper, Tabasco, and garlic powder. Microwave on HIGH 1 1/2-2 minutes. Stir cheeses into hot mixture until melted. Add crawfish. Cover with wax paper and cook on HIGH 6 minutes. Stir halfway through cooking time. Serve as an entrée in pastry shells or as a dip with Melba rounds.
