The surprise is the beer and it really makes the flavors pop for this dish. Its a cinch to make in the crockpot. I don't remember how I came across it, but its one I made for my dad every St Patty's day and he loved it. I hope you do too.

Steps:
- 1. Place corned beef into your crockpot and sprinkle the dry onion soup over the beef.
- 2. Pour the beer over the beef and soup mix. You can add the additional flavor packet that comes with the meat or leave it out.
- 3. Turn crockpot on low and cook for 4-5 hours. The last hour I add the head of cabbage chunked up and place on top of the beef.
- 4. I add the cabbage the last hour to keep it crispy..if you like softer cabbage just add it after you pour the beer and let it cook with the beef. Serve and enjoy!
