This is another recipe from my sister-in-law Marie, and we have been making it for years. It is so easy and just delicious! The bacon fat gives it a great flavor.

Time 30m

Number Of Ingredients 9

2 Tbsp bacon fat
2 large potatos, diced
2 can(s) cream style corn
2 c whole milk
1 can(s) evaporated milk-or enough to equal 2 cups
1 tsp salt
4 dash(es) pepper
3 Tbsp parsley flakes
1 medium onion--chopped

Steps:

  • 1. saute onion in bacon fat for 3-5 minutes
  • 2. add to this, 2 cups of whole milk, 2 cups of evaporated milk, 2 cans of creamed corn, salt, pepper and parsley flakes. I use 1 can of evaporated milk which is almost 2 cups, and I pour whole milk to make it two cups.
  • 3. cook potatos separately for about 10 minutes
  • 4. drain and add to chowder
  • 5. simmer til ready to eat
