Steps:
- put the chocolate chips in a saucepan and melted them over low heat. When they were melted, I poured in the milk and mixed them together. The chocolate was chunky, so it took some mixing and whisking to get it all blended together. Then, I added in the whipping cream and vanilla. I heated it to about 170 degrees. I considered boiling it for a minute or so, but chose against it. I then poured myself a cup and put the rest in a storage container and put it in the refrigerator.
- All in all, it's a very good drinking chocolate. Right off the oven, it was a little thinner than I hoped, but it still tasted good. I have warmed up the chilled leftover in a coffee mug in the microwave at a low setting, and that's worked out well. Warming up the chilled version has resulted in a thicker consistency. I have not tried heating it up with steam. It does taste much like Chantico, and I've even mixed in some hazelnut syrup like I used to at Starbucks.
