CONFETTI CAKE image

Number Of Ingredients 10

Shortening or PAM Spray
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 1/4 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
3/4 cup milk
1/3 cup butter, softened
1 tsp vanilla
1 egg
2 Tbs small, multicolor decorative candies

Steps:

  • 1. Turn on oven to 375 F. Grease the bottom of an 8x8x2-inch baking pan with shortening or PAM spray. Save until step 5. 2. Put flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in a mixing bowl. Add milk, butter and vanilla to the dry ingrediants. 3. Beat with an electric mixer on low speed until ingrediants are combined. Stop mixer and srape sides of bowl with a rubber spatula. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes more. Turn off mixer. 4. Add egg. Beat on low speed until combined, then beat on medium speed for 2 minutes more. 5. Use a wooden spoon to stir in the decorative candies. Pour batter into prepared baking pan, scraping sides of bowl with the rubber spatula to remove all the batter. Spread batter evenly in the pan. 6. Put pan in oven. Bake 25-30 minutes or until a wooden toothpick comes out clean. (To test for doneness, use hot pads to pull out oven rack. Stick a toothpick in the center of the cake; pull it out. If any cake sticks to it, bake it for a few more minutes and test it again.) Set pan on cooling rack. Cool cake completely.
