Coney Sauce image

Number Of Ingredients 13

1 pound Ground beef
2/3 to 1 1/3 cup Water or Beef Stock
1/3 cup Onion - finely diced
2 cloves Garlic
1/4 cup Ketchup or tomato sauce
2 teaspoons Mustard
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1 1/2 teaspoons Brown sugar
1 1/2 tablespoons Chili powder
1 teaspoon Cumin
1/2 teaspoon Celery salt
1 pinch Cayenne pepper
1 pinch Salt (to taste)

Steps:

  • Combine ground beef and 2/3 cup of water (or beef stock) in a cold pan to break up ground beef into a fine texture.
  • Add the rest of the ingredients and then a little more water or beef stock.
  • Turn heat to med high and bring to simmer.
  • Turn down to low simmer and cook for 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
  • Add water as needed to the consistency that you like.
