Classic Pecan Pie image

This is an old, old recipe that is tried and true for pecan pie. Before my children were born I was always trying out different recipes and see what was working and what was not. Number Of Ingredients 7

3 eggs, slightly beaten
1 c karo light or dark corn syrup
1 c sugar
2 Tbsp margarine, melted (my favorite is blue bonnet)
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 c pecans
1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust

Steps:

  • 1. In large bowl combine first 5 ingredients until well-blended.
  • 2. Stir in pecans. Pour into pie crust.
  • 3. Bake in 350 degree oven 50 to 55 minutes or until knife inserted halfway between center and edge comes out clean. Cool.
  • 4. For frozen crust, preheat oven and cookie sheet. Pour filling into frozen crust, bake on cookie sheet in lower third of oven.
