Clam Sauce for Pasta image

Number Of Ingredients 9

1/4 cup polyunsaturated oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon basil
1 (15-ounce) can chopped clams, drained
1/3 cup chopped flat leaf parsley
1/8 teaspoon red pepper flake (optional)
1 1/2 cups clam juice
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Steps:

  • Sauté the minced garlic in the oil in a heavy skillet until translucent. Add the drained clams and simmer for 5 minutes. Add the parsley, optional pepper flakes and clam juice and simmer over low heat for 1 hour. Add the salt and pepper. Serve over pasta.
