Cherry Strudel image

I found this recipe in a local cookbook "Country Cookin" from the Water Valley Family and Community Education Club. So easy and delicious!

Number Of Ingredients 11

5 tablespoon(s) butter
1 package(s) yellow cake mix
1 package(s) active dry yeast
3/4 cup(s) flour
2/3 cup(s) warm water
2 - eggs
1 can(s) cherry pie filling
TOPPING
1 1/2 cup(s) powdered sugar
1 tablespoon(s) white corn syrup
- enough milk as needed for consistency to drizzle over top ( i used about 1/4 cup)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350. Melt and cool butter. Combine 1 1/2 cups dry cake mix with yeast, flour, warm water, and eggs. Beat for 2 minutes. Spread in a greased 9x13 inch pan and set aside.
  • Combine butter and the rest of the cake mix until crumbly. Spread pie filling over dough, then crumble topping over all. Bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes or until done. Let Cool.
  • Combine the topping ingredients and drizzle on top. Enjoy!
