cheezy meatloaf with homemade barbecue glaze image

I made this meatloaf for the first time 38 years ago in 9th or 10th grade home economics class and have been making it ever since. I love it and I hope you do too.

Number Of Ingredients 14

1 pound(s) hamburger
1 - egg
1 1/4 cup(s) grated cheese (i like colby jack or cheddar or sometimes just break up 3 or 4 slices of american)
2 tablespoon(s) chili sauce
2 teaspoon(s) worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon(s) dry mustard
1 cup(s) crushed saltine crackers (or use cornflakes or canned bread crumbs)
- salt and pepper to taste
BARBEQUE GLAZE
1/4 cup(s) tomato sauce
1 1/2 teaspoon(s) salad oil
1 tablespoon(s) honey
1/8 teaspoon(s) garlic powder
1 teaspoon(s) oregano or italian seasoning mix

Steps:

  • combine all ingredents for the meatloaf. press into greased or sprayed small bread pan. Bake 45 minutes at 350 degrees. then spread the prepared barbeque glaze over the top and put back in oven for 15 minutes.
  • To prepare barbeque glaze. put all ingredents in small sauce pan. simmer about 20 minutes or until thickened.
