CHEESE TORTELLINI WITH BASIL CREAM SAUCE image

Yield 4 servings

Number Of Ingredients 11

2 shallots, minced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp flour
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup white wine
1 1/4 cups cream
1 cup fresh parm cheese, grated
1/4 cup chopped basil
2 9 oz packages fresh cheese-filled tortellini
1 lb blackened grilled chicken
NOTE: I also (of course) add crushed red pepper to this sauce.

Steps:

  • in a medium saucepan sautee shallots and garlic in butter until soft. Add flour, andstir 1 minute. Stir in wine, cook another minute. Slowly add cream, mixing until smooth. Add cheese, and cook over medium heat until smooth and thickened. Add basil, mix well and pour atop hot cooked tortellini. Mix in grilled chicken.
