CAULIFLOWER IN SOUR CREAM image

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 pkg (10 oz.) frozen cauliflower - or - florets from 1 small head of fresh cauliflower
2/3 c salted water
1 1/2 Tbsp butter
2 Tbsp all purpose flour
1 c sour cream
1/8 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp lemon juice
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper

Steps:

  • 1. Cook cauliflower in boiling salted water for 6-10 minutes, until tender; drain.
  • 2. Melt butter in a medium saucepan. Add flour and stir till smooth. Stir in sour cream and beat with whisk. Add nutmeg, lemon juice, salt and pepper and taste for seasoning. Add more salt if necessary.
  • 3. Add cauliflower to sauce, bring to a boil and simmer 2-3 minutes. Garnish with a sprinkling of nutmeg. Serve while hot.
