Caramel Frosting image

This frosting is really good when you pour it over a nice warmed fresh baked banana bread.

Number Of Ingredients 6

1/4 cup(s) sugar
2 tablespoon(s) butter
1/4 cup(s) brown sugar
2 tablespoon(s) milk
2 teaspoon(s) vanilla
2 tablespoon(s) powdered sugar

Steps:

  • Heat sugar, butter, brown sugar and milk in a medium sized saucepan on med, until sugar is dissolved. Bring to a rolling boil and cook for only 1 minute. Remove from heat
  • Stir in vanilla and powdered sugar. Beat with a wooden spoon until desired consistency, it should be thick but loose enough to pour over the banana bread.
  • Immediately pour over the banana bread and sprinkle with chopped walnuts or pecans. Which ever chopped nut you used in the banana bread recipe. Let cool, slice and serve
