Caramel Apple Salad image

A wonderful fruit salad for a fall festivity or carry into the holiday season. This recipe has 2 parts; Day 1 & Day 2

Number Of Ingredients 11

DAY 1
1 - egg, slightly beaten
8 ounce(s) crushed pineapple in juice
2 tablespoon(s) apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon(s) flour
1/2 cup(s) sugar
DAY 2
8 ounce(s) cool whip
4 - apples, peeled or leave with skin on for color
1 cup(s) peanuts
1 jar(s) caramel sauce topping used for ice cream

Steps:

  • In a saucepan mix together all the ingredients from day 1 bring to a boil, cook until thick and refrigerate overnight.
  • Day 2 combine the sauce from day 1 reserving a bit to sprinkle on top for presentation.
  • Sprinkle with additional peanuts if desired.
