Candy Cane White Hot Chocolate image

Number Of Ingredients 7

4 c milk
3 oz good quality white chocolate (such as lindt or baker's), chopped
1/3 c crushed red-and-white-striped candy canes, or hard peppermint candies
pinch salt
1/2 c peppermint schnapps, optional
whipped cream
additional crushed red-and-white-striped candy canes, or hard peppermint candies

Steps:

  • 1. Bring milk to simmer in heavy medium saucepan.
  • 2. Reduce heat to medium-low. Add white chocolate, 1/3 cup candy and salt; whisk until smooth.
  • 3. Add schnapps, if desired.
  • 4. Ladle hot chocolate into mugs, dividing equally. Top with whipped cream and additional candy.
