Campbell's Classic Meatloaf image

I found this recipe in a very old tin recipe box on top of a shelf. I remember using this recipe box back when my kids were very small, 20-25 years ago. If I remember correctly, they loved this meatloaf.

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 can(s) tomato soup
1 1/2 lb ground meat
1/2 c dry bread crumbs
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 egg, beaten
1 Tbsp worcestershire sauce
1/8 tsp fresh ground black pepper
1/4 c water

Steps:

  • 1. Mix 1/2 can soup, meat, bread crumbs, onion, egg, worcestershire sauce and pepper thoroughly. In a baking pan, shape firmly into an 8" x 4" loaf.
  • 2. Bake at 350 degrees one hour or until done. Should test 160 degrees on meat thermometer.
  • 3. In a saucepan, mix 2 tablespoons of the drippings with the remaining soup and the water. Heat to a simmer. Serve over the meat loaf.
