Butternut Squash Pie image

This pie is a lot like a Pumpkin Pie.....A Pumpkin is considered a squash.........They are very tasty...You may decide that you like this even better than the Pumpkin............

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 pie crust shell (deep uncooked)
1 c sugar
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp cloves
1/2 tsp allspice, ground
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp ginger
1/2 tsp salt
2 large eggs, beaten
1 2/3 c evaporated milk (carnation)
1 1/2 c butternut squash (cooked, pureed)

Steps:

  • 1. Scoop seeds from squash bake in cake pan with a 1/2 cup of water @ 400* for 45-55 minutes. Then remove meat and put in blender to puree...Separate 1 1/2 for pie and freeze the rest for later...... Preheat #1 425* bake for 15 minutes, #2 turn down heat to 350* bake 45 more minutes.............
  • 2. Beat eggs with carnation, then combine the remaining ingredients and beat till smooth.....Pour into unbaked pie shell.....to bake..(same info above)Preheat #1 425* bake for 15 minutes, #2 turn down heat to 350* bake 45 more minutes.............
