Bubbalicious Burger Chili image

I always keep a box of angus beef or chuck burger patties in the freezer for chili or for cookouts....really nice quality beef for a better price and really convenient! This is especially beefy, but my family loves the beans in it and the chili comes together quick and easy...perfect for game day...you can even keep warm in the crockpot !

2 pound(s) angus ground chuck burger patties, thawed( i used bubba burgers)
1 package(s) ( 1 oz) au jus mix
1 cup(s) diced onions
2/3 cup(s) diced green chili peppers( 2 chilies)
1 cup(s) diced celery
29 ounce(s) canned crushed tomatoes
16 ounce(s) canned kidney beans with liquid
29 ounce(s) canned pinto beans with liquid
2 can(s) (14 oz) chili seasoned tomatoes, chopped
2 teaspoon(s) cumin powder
3 tablespoon(s) chili powder
1 1/2 teaspoon(s) black pepper
1 teaspoon(s) salt
1 cup(s) beef broth
1 cup(s) spicy beefy tomato or vegetable juice

Steps:

  • 1. In a 5-6 qt. non-stick stockpot, crumble the thawed burger patties and sprinkle with the au jus mix. Brown the ground beef over medium-high heat, stirring constantly and breaking the beef into pea-size pieces. Add the onions, peppers and celery and continue to stir-cook the beef veggie mixture.
  • Add remaining ingredients, and bring to a simmer over medium- high heat. Reduce heat to medium and continue to cook chili down, (stirring every 15 minutes), for 1-1 1/2 hours.
