Steps:
- Beat egg with sugar until light. Stir in vanilla. Sift dry ingredients. Add dry ingredients to sugar-egg mixture. Mix in chopped walnuts. Spread batter in a buttered 8x8 inch pan and bake at 325 for 25-30 minutes. Cool, but cut into 1x1 cookies while still warm. Cookies will have a crunchy crust, but will be quite wet inside. Dust with confectioner' sugar. Store in an airtight container. These are best made 1 day in advance.
