Brown Sugar and Honey Glazed Salmon image

This recipe came from my ex-husband who is a great cook in his own right. It is my oldest sons favorite. It's not difficult at all and looks and tastes wonderful. Enjoy!

3 Tbsp light brown sugar
2 Tbsp butter
2 Tbsp soy sauce
1 Tbsp finely grated ginger
2 dash(es) salt and pepper
1 Tbsp honey
1/4 c dijon mustard
2 Tbsp olive oil
vegetable oil
4 salmon steaks 6 ounces each

Steps:

  • 1. In a small saucepan, melt the brown sugar, honey and butter over medium high heat until butter is melted.
  • 2. Remove from heat and whisk in mustard, soy sauce, olive oil and ginger. Allow to cool.
  • 3. Preheat a large skillet over medium heat.
  • 4. Coat salmon steaks with a little bit of vegetable oil and place in the skillet.
  • 5. Coat the flesh of the salmon with the brown sugar mixture.
  • 6. If you like your salmon medium cook it for about 8 minutes turning 1/2 way through. If you like your salmon more well done cook it 15 minutes turning 1/2 way through.
  • 7. Plate and pour extra sauce over the salmon. Enjoy.
