Steps:
- 1. In a large saucepan, combine rice, contents of seasoning packet and water; bring to a boil.
- 2. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring once.
- 3. Stir in the broccoli, carrot and onion.
- 4. Cover and simmer for 5 minutes.
- 5. Stir in soup and cream cheese.
- 6. Cook and stir until cheese is melted.
- 7. Stir in almonds if desired.
- 8. Yield: 8 servings (makes about 2 quarts).
