Steps:
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- In a bowl, whisk milk, eggs, vanilla extract, sugar, nutmeg, and salt.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add 1 ½ teaspoons of butter and wait until hot and melted.
- While waiting, dip the brioche slices in the custard mixture.
- Place the bread into the skillet and cook each side for 2 to 3 minutes or until golden. You may add more butter if needed.
- Transfer the cooked toast onto a baking sheet.
- Bake the toast for 8 to 10 minutes.
- While waiting, add ¼ cup of butter in a skillet over medium-low heat. Stir for 3 to 5 minutes or until it browns.
- Pour the browned butter all over the baked toast and top with maple syrup.
