How to make Brain Cupcakes Recipe

Number Of Ingredients 27

RED VELVET CAKE (makes 18-20 cupcakes)
Step One: Mix together the following ingredients
1 1/2 cups vegetable or canola oil
1 cup buttermilk
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp white vinegar
1 oz red food coloring
Step Two: In a separate bowl, sift together
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
2 tsp cocoa (dark chocolate cocoa is best)
CREAM CHEESE FROSTING:
1 stick unsalted butter
6 oz softened cream cheese
1 tsp vanilla
3 cups powdered sugar
BRAINS:
Step Eight: Melt the following ingredients together in the microwave and mix until you get a pale brainy tan color
1 bag of white chocolate melting chips
13 pink chocolate melting chips
8 orange chocolate melting chips
1 tbsp mini dark chocolate chips
OOZY CRANIAL FLUID:
Step Nine: Combine 1 cup raspberry syrup and 1 cup strawberry preserves in a squeeze bottle (a well-rinsed mustard bottle works great)

Steps:

  • Step Three: Pour dry ingredients into wet ingredients and mix well. Pour into cupcake pans lined with paper cupcake cups
  • Step Four: Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes (if using a convection oven, set the temperature at 295 degrees). Turn and bake for an additional 13-14 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean

  • Step Five: Beat butter and cream cheese until smooth
  • Step Six: Add vanilla
  • Step Seven: Add sugar (little by little) until it reaches a stiff consistency

  • Step Ten: After cupcakes have cooled, frost with a knife or pastry bag, apply brains and surround brain with oozy cranial fluid.
