Bourbon and Brown Sugar Flank Steak image

Number Of Ingredients 9

1/4 cup dark brown sugar, packed
1/4 cup scallions, minced
1/4 cup bourbon
1/4 cup dijon mustard
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
2 pounds flank steak
1 teaspoon cornstarch
1 teaspoon Gravy Master

Steps:

  • Combine first seven ingredients in a large zip lock bag. Marinate in the refrigerator 8 hours or overnight, turning bag occasionally.
  • Remove steak and pour marinade in a small sauce pan.
  • Grill steak to desired doneness and thinly slice across the grain.
  • While steak is grilling heat sauce over med-low heat until well heated. Add gravy master to create desired color of sauce.
  • Combine cornstarch with a tablespoon or so of liquid to dissolve it. You can use water or wine. Add this mixture to the marinade
  • You may need more cornstarch mixture to develop desired consistency of your sauce.
