BONNIE'S BUTTERY BAKED ACORN SQUASH image

This is a delicious way to prepare Acorn Squash. I was looking for something different than the usual brown sugar when I found this wonderful Orange Marmalade fruit spread. It is a little milder than regular Orange Marmalade, and just perfect for this dish. I served the squash with pork chops, but I think it would be a great side dish with any pork, beef, chicken or fish. Enjoy.

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 acorn squash
2 pats of butter
4 tablespoons of orange marmalade fruit spread.
salt to taste

Steps:

  • Wash the squash. Cut it in half, and remove the seeds and strings. Place the squash halves in a small baking pan cut side down. Add 1/4 cup water. Bake the squash in a 400 degree oven for 30 to 45 minutes depending on the size of your squash. Test with a fork to see if it is done.
  • When the squash is done, remove it from the oven, and turn the squash over, cut side up. In each half: add salt to taste, 1 tablespoon of butter, and the 2 tablespoons of orange marmalade fruit spread.
  • Raise the rack in the oven, and put the baked squash under the broiler for 5 to 8 minutes. Serve and Enjoy!
