This recipe is what my mother used to make our birthday cakes growing up.

Steps:
- 1. Beat sugar, butter, eggs and vanilla until fluffy.
- 2. Mix in remaining ingredients.
- 3. Pour into greased cake pan. (13x9" if not using decorative pan)
- 4. Bake at 350 degrees about 30 minutes.
