BLACKBERRY DUMPLINGS image

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 quart fresh blackberries
2 cups white sugar, or to taste
2 cups water
2 tablespoons butter
Dumplings
1 1/2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 tablespoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup milk

Steps:

  • Directions: Mix berries, water, sugar, and butter in large pot. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 30 minutes. For dumplings: Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and milk. Stir until mixed. Drop by tablespoonfuls into berry mixture. Cover tightly and simmer 15 minutes. Serve in bowls with whipped cream.
