Yield 6-8 people

Number Of Ingredients 7

2 1/2 loaves white bread, cubed
5 ribs celery
3 large onions
3 sticks of butter
2 tbsp of poultry seasoning
salt to taste
1 large can of chicken broth

Steps:

  • Puree vegetables in blender using 2 cups of broth for the liquid. Melt the butter in large saucepan and cook the blended vegetables for about a half hour. If you want a little green in your stuffing, chop a little parsley or celery in the cooking liquid. Toss lightly into the bread cubes. If you need more liquid, use a little more broth. Do not use too much liquid, the flavors will blend while it is baking. Place in large deep casserole or two small ones and bake covered at 250 degrees for two hours or until very hot in the center. If it is not cooked slowly, a hard crust will form around it. You will probably have canned broth left over. If the can is open just freeze the broth to use in other recipes.
