This little number is from a Hollywood Cookbook. Didn't even know they knew how to cook in Hollywood. (I'm so bad!)

Categories     Chicken

Number Of Ingredients 6

- 1 cup catsup
- 1/4 cup sherry vinegar
- 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- two chickens, each cut into six pieces, skin on
- 3 pounds vidalia onions, sliced thin
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh thyme

Steps:

  • Mix catsup, vinegar, and pepper. Pour it over chicken pieces and allow to marinate overnight. Preheat oven to 325°.
  • Divide onions evenly between two roasting pans. Transfer chicken pieces on top of the onions, laying chicken skin side up and in one layer. Cover with any remaining marinade.
  • Cook for one hour and 15 minutes, and then increase heat to 475° and cook for another five minutes. Serves 12, from Hollywood cookbook
